Driver-conductor of bus or coach M/F

The Driver-Conductor drives buses (urban transport) or coaches (school transport, local, regional or tourist transportation) safely.
He/she works in direct contact with the clientele.

+ Assignments and duties

Driving and safety

  • Transport passengers on buses or coaches in optimum safety conditions
  • Provide a driving service that is rational, comfortable and economical according to the timetable
  • Ensure compliance with the safety rules inside one's vehicle
  • Forestall and manage route incidents

Service

  • Welcome and inform the clients
  • Sell the transport tickets and manage the cash

Administrative

  • Carry out the formalities for signing on and signing off for the duty rosters as well as the related administrative and technical tasks
  • Watch over one's vehicle and inform the maintenance department about any malfunctioning
  • Inform the central office about any traffic problem, accident, etc.

+ Requisite profile and qualities

Your profile:

  • You are 21 years old at the minimum (legal obligation)
  • You hold a D driver's license and the equivalent of a FIMO Passenger license (French for: Obligatory Minimum Initial Training)
  • You are a qualified bus/coach driver: CAP diploma (City & Guilds equivalent) for conductors and drivers of passengers or TP qualification in Interurban Road Transportation of Passengers

Training courses to qualify for this post:

  • Equivalent of CAP AACR: CAP diploma for conductors and drivers of passengers. To join the CAP course, you must be 21 years old at minimum and hold a B driving license.
  • TP qualification in Interurban Road Transport of Passengers. Training: 420 hours open to holders of a B driving license and aged over 21.

+ Specific job details

The work hours involve a 35-hour week contract and the Drivers may have to work weekends. Before being hired, a safety medical visit (tests on your hearing, eyesight, reflexes, etc.) is mandatory. The work of a bus Driver requires repetitive gestures and contortions.
The professionals are exposed to acoustic and thermal stress and the mental pressures are strong (tension, attention, etc.).

Scheduler / Dispatcher / Insurance officer M/F

The objective of this post is to ensure the proper daily handling of the activities of the network by assigning the drivers and the vehicles to the routes to be covered with a constant concern for safety, quality and economic optimization.

+ Assignments and duties

Management of drivers

  • Draw up the daily schedules of drivers
  • Supervise the drivers on the ground
  • Manage the duty rosters
  • Handle the prepayments

Management of the fleet

  • Make the daily assignments of vehicles in coordination with the maintenance department
  • Inspect every day the condition of the fleet (bodywork, onboard equipment, bus documents, cleanliness, etc.)
  • Check the mileage counters at the end of each month

Management of operations

  • Manage the daily scheduling uncertainties (last-minute absences, etc.)
  • Find solutions for unexpected problems (deviation, breakdowns, accidents)
  • Ensure compliance with the transport safety rules and regulations
  • Monitor the application of the legal requirements (driving time, daily and weekly overtime, break times, etc.)
  • Take part in actions to monitor the quality of the service

+ Requisite profile and qualities

Your profile:

  • You hold a D driving license and FIMO qualification and know how to drive a bus
  • You have prior experience of the passenger transportation business
  • You have already occupied a post with managerial duties

You must be able to take over the bus to replace an absent driver in order to ensure service continuity.

Line managers M/F

The role of the line manager is to organize the operations, and to manage and optimize the resources while taking into account the safety imperatives.

+ Assignments and duties

Management

  • Ensure the motivation and efficiency of the personnel: participation in recruitment, organization of reception / training, definition of objectives, evaluation and counseling
  • Participate in the management of personnel-management issues and guarantee the good working climate of operations

Commercial and development duties

  • Apply a commercial strategy reflecting Regional Management policy by developing sales in line with the margin objectives laid down
  • Handle relations with the organizing authorities and the industrial clients
  • Manage new projects, invitations to tender, new acquisitions

Management

  • Guarantee the correct definition of the resources necessary for the execution of contracts: human, material, financial
  • Define, optimize and follow up the investment and operations budgets and the indicators

QHSE

  • Be the guarantor of the implementation of the Quality Hygiene Safety Environment rules (QHSE)

Your profile:

  • 2 to 5 years of higher education; you have prior experience in the passenger transport business
  • You are a good field operator
  • You have acquired solid and successful experience in managing operational teams
  • You have a good knowledge of IRP
