Veolia Transport France's "Marketing and Regions" Business Unit

Veolia Transport's "Research and Regions" unit offers various decision-making tools to help planners better address these increasingly complex issues.

Methodology projects

Methodology projects in progress include:

  • The compilation of an information base on all of Veolia's urban transit systems, with socio-demographic data for the districts comprising the regions served. This base contains statistics and maps presenting the region—for example, a map of population changes—and its associated mobility patterns, such as a map of home-work commutes.

  • The establishment of a research methodology for regions and systems, which will lead to a "study kit" detailing the various phases of a transit study applicable to any region.

Coordinating Transit

If we want city drivers to leave their cars at home, we have to make public transit an obvious choice, by making the first case in its favor, namely practicality. And it is a good selling point, as long as multimodal transit is seamless. The various modes of transportation must be integrated into the city.

Offering the Missing Link in the Transit Chain

When existing solutions cannot meet everyone's needs, the goal of coordinating transit is a spur to innovation. Veolia Transport takes care of coordination, by supplementing existing systems using simple solutions: small electric cars for local service in the downtown core, transportation on demand, self-service bicycles, etc.
