TransMilenio is used by one million passengers every day
The exclusive lane operated to date is 70 km long and has 94 operational stations. Buses pass every 60 seconds at an average commercial speed of 28 km/hour. TransMilenio is used by one million passengers every day. An estimated 1.2 million passengers are expected to use this Bus Rapid Transit system when the second phase becomes operational in 2006. In 2012, at the end of four phases of expansion, 380 km of exclusive bus lanes will have been built in the Colombian capital.
