Following a tender issued by the Consorcio de Transportes de Madrid (transit authority), the contract for the Parla light rail system was awarded in May 2005 to FC -Connex. This 40-year contract is for the construction and operation of the light rail line, with expected annual turnover of €6.25 million. Veolia Transport also operates the two light rail networks in Barcelona and the entire urban network of Pamplona.
