While maintaining the existing volume of business, Veolia Transport has won new contracts in the country. In particular, it has acquired 32 of the 125 bus lines for which tenders were issued in Ystad and Lund-Sjöbo in southern Sweden, all of which should generate annual turnover of €4.4 million. Veolia Transport Sweden was awarded a five-year contract for urban transit in the town of Umea in northern Sweden. The contract, which involves 140 employees and 50 buses, includes a regional line and the airport service. It has an established annual turnover of €8.2 million. Start-up is scheduled for June 2006.
