Easybus, transportation-on-demand

Flexibility, above all else

Transportation on demand | Easybus

A flexible on-demand transport system that provides a valuable service. Easybus meets the economic priorities of local authorities and the individual needs of passengers.

Local relationships: One of Easybus' principal advantages is its interactive booking system. Customers are greeted by a telephone host who helps them get where they want to go, when they want to. Local web sites can also be used to make a simple booking. This special relationship makes Easybus much more than just a conventional on-demand transit service.

Adaptable and intelligent system management based on innovative technology - planning software, GPS, real-time calculations and a telephone platform - that handles all customer requests and optimizes the available vehicles.

A compact vehicle, with low floor for easy access, that is comfortable and pleasant.

How does the Easybus system work?

Transportation on demand | How it works ?

Veolia Transport carries out a diagnostic survey to define the potential needs expressed by local residents and to take into account local conditions. This highlights the times of the day and the neighborhoods where the current bus routes do not correspond to passengers' needs or make it impossible to maintain a cost effective fixed-route service.

The service is easy to use: with a simple phone call or by using the Internet, a customer can book an Easybus in advance.

Shortly before the agreed time, the customer goes to the stop, where the Easybus picks them up and takes them to their destination.

For the return trip, the customer simply books a round trip and fixes the time when booking.

Based on availability rather than frequency, Easybus offers a high-quality service at off-peak times, a period often poorly served by transit systems.

The Easybus customer service operators suggest the optimum arrangements, in real time, based on the requests received and using a map-based system combined with GPS vehicle localization.

The system uses its own database which provides all the information needed for good service management:

  • management of trip requests and reservations
  • transmission of assignments to drivers
  • compilation of statistics and invoicing
  • management of customer records (complaints, delays, and cancellations).
