Developing Clean Solutions

Veolia Transport considers the reduction of air and noise pollution a priority.

We have introduced a number of innovations, such as special injection systems, particle filters and catalytic converters in diesel engines in vehicles. This eliminates the polluting particles in exhaust gas and makes it less noxious.

In addition, hybrid engines in buses and taxis sharply lower fuel consumption and curtail pollutant emissions.

We are embracing new energies, such as natural gas, Aquazole (a diesel fuel containing water) and GO TBTS, a low-sulfur diesel fuel that emits fewer particles. As for biodiesel, we are using it more and more: a supply is available and Veolia Transport has opted for biodiesel derived from decomposing waste or used cooking oil.

The promotion of public transit optimizes fuel expenses and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. Even better, electric-powered transit (light rail, metros) generates no air pollution at all.
