Intermodality is managing the interface between the various transportation options available to riders. It is the key component of a smoothly functioning municipal or regional system.
Meeting the intermodality challenge takes more than just building stations or transit centers where passengers can switch from train to metro or bus to taxi. Intermodality is created mainly by giving passengers information about their entire trip and the frequency of service of the different modes of transportation available.
It also involves helping riders make productive use of their waiting time, by creating various additional services in stations.
