Environmental Research

Research and innovation are a core focus of Veolia Transport's environmental policy and yield advances in technology that enhance the quality of urban life by reducing air and noise pollution.

Advances are applied directly in the field and improved continuously. Electric condensers, for example, power light rail trains that run autonomously over part of their route, then recharge at boarding stations. This innovation helps to protect the urban environment and was used by the city of Nice for its two main pedestrian-only areas, Place Masséna and Place Garibaldi.

A Win-Win Formula

Veolia Transport's commitment to environmental research is a win-win formula. Developing more fuel-efficient solutions, for example, both trims transit authority costs and helps protect the environment.
